Shadows Over the Galaxy

Skyhopper Salvage and Starship Chases

At the start of a new day, our Rebels decided to search for the crashed air speeders Pandora heard rumors about in Iziz. They coordinated speeder bikes and the shuttle and located the scene in a few hours, despite the rain and clouds. The band found five T-16s in total, 2 smashed beyond repair and 3 bound up in the tree branches and vines.

Neris attempted to fly the first one out and accidentally torqued the starboard airfoil completely from the frame while rending the thrust nozzle into a mess. Zork clambered up to rescue her from the wreckage and discovered the branches had been severely weakened in the mayhem. He fell, knocked himself senseless but Hope provided swift first aid and brought him around. Zork's second (more careful) attempt succeeded.

Pandora tried to fly the second T-16 out as well. Her deftness at the controls freed the craft with some minor rents to the airfoils that will need some patching (-1 hull point).

The band decided to try releasing the third craft with some heavy equipment from Whisper Base. Pandora flew the functional Skyhopper back and Zork took a speeder, while the remaining three salvaged the wrecks into the shuttle. Under Neris' guidance and with the help of an AT-ST, they secured the remaining Skyhopper easily.

On the trip home, the shuttle was challenged by a random TIE patrol. Cole did some fast talking and the TIEs left them alone, but with a warning to present a report their trip to Lieutenant Vlaada, Quartermaster at Jyrenne Base.

That evening, Agent Fennro shared the communication he discovered that a spy for Moff Dardano would be traveling through the system the next day. With the arrival coordinates secured, the Rebels planned an ambush.

All aboard the shuttle, they did find the spy's shuttle right where the communique said it would be. In the ensuing chase, the Rebels proved to be a better crew than the Imperials, swiftly overtaking them and eventually pounding their craft into scrap.

Boarding went even easier. A stun grenade followed by an enormous wookie and a Jedi caught the Imperials off guard. Quick shooting by Neris and Cole stunned both soldiers. The officer and spy surrendered quickly.

Now the Rebels have secured Major Garren Lohr, Imperial Intelligence, serial number 663901558. Who he is and what he knows will have to wait until next time…

Rescue and Ration bartering

There was little rest for our heroes after their victory at Whisper Base. While deliberating about how to address various concerns regarding maintenance and security, a half-dozen villagers arrived from a nearby settlement, Darrastead. When the newcomers discovered the base was no longer occupied by Imperials, our rebels were invited to come meet the village eldr, DEIL KADRU.

Kadru was very happy to learn of the bases change of hands. She and Cole worked out a temporary deal for villagers to help maintain the base in exchange for roughly half of the base's supplies.

Neris looked over the aged Ghtroc 720 freighter and learned that it would never fly again, or even power up, without a new power coil modulator. She began urging the others to vist Iziz for parts.

When an incoming rebel agent failed to arrive and the SigInt Array picked up word of a recently captured smuggler, the rebels decided to chance a rescue. They used speeder bikes for a night trip to Iziz and began putting out feelers for who and where the smuggler might be. Pandora's street smarts proved useful as she found contacts who provided not only the location of the target but also plans for the building.

The next day, the rebels scouted the place and created a plan. Under the cover of darkness, they broke into an adjacent warehouse and jumped over the alley into an open window. From there, Zork lead the charge into the security station where the group overpowered a pair of Stormtroopers. The Rebels swiftly broke their grateful target out of his cell and then made their escape onto the roof.

The smuggler did turn out to be group's missing intelligence officer, who introduced himself as GAAV FENNRO. Gaav's skill set will make him especially suited to monitoring the SigInt Array and is a major boon to our band's efforts on Onderon.

There is much yet to be done, because, as Hope forewarned, it's only a matter of time before Moff Dardano learns of what has happened and returns to attempt to reclaim his secret base…

Victory on Onderon!
Whisper Base falls

In their first mission together, the Rebel Alliance's newest operations cell has proven themselves very effective. Cole wasn't quite sure what to expect from his allies in the beginning. Their garage ambush failed after Pandora had some difficulty forcing open an AT-ST hatch. This lead to a tense firefight where a guard almost sounded the alarm, but the crew's blasters and Wookie fists won out.

Their second encounter went better, overpowering the guards at the landing pad. Hope led the charge with her lightsaber under accurate covering fire from Zork and the others. Cole took a blaster bolt to the side and required the Jedi's aid afterwards. Disabling the shuttle was a simple task for Neris; knowing ship engines inside and out, she simply removed a starboard condenser module.

All that remained was taking the control room. This proved challenging when the party discovered Stormtroopers guarding the door. To make things worse, a second Stormtrooper squad attacked from a corridor behind. While Cole re-opened his wound bravely rushing the Imperials, everyone else escaped with some scrapes and minor burns.

After intimidation failed, Neris forced open the control door and the heroes took command of the base. It quickly became apparent that the base commander, Lieutenant Sarev had escaped through a secret passage was making his way to the nearby comm tower to alert Moff Dardano of Whisper Base’s capture.

Rushing back to the garage, the rebels discovered the Lieutenant had taken an AT-ST to make his escape. Pandora and Zork fired up the second walker, while Cole and Neris took speeders. Pandora proved her aptitude with all things racing when she deftly outmaneuvered Sarev and forced him off his path. With harassing fire from Cole and Neris, Zork vaporized the Imperial’s walker with close range cannon fire.

So, with a little time to breathe, the rebels scouted the base to re-supply and re-arm. They now have the capability to spy directly on Imperial communications in the Japrael sector. But what will they do with their half-dozen captives? And how long until Moff Dardano discovers his pet project is compromised and moves to take Whisper Base back?

Welcome to the jungle
Your adventure begins!

Your reliable transpoprt is hours away, hidden as carefully as you could manage under the trees and foliage. It has been a long, arduous trek through the sticky, hot jungles of Onderon. Moisture constantly drips from the leaves overhead. Clouds of biting insectoids swarm you incessantly. You wish there was a breeze. The trek has been un-eventful so far, but your thoughts linger on the enormous set of clawed tracks you crossed at the last ridge.

According to your holo-map, the Imperial base is just ahead. The bothan spy-net indicates this base is a listening post established by the sector governor, Moff Dardano, for the sole purpose of spying on his political rival, Admiral Corlen. Not only would the base provide an excellent staging area for operations in this planetary system, Rebellion Command is certain the secret base was not constructed with permission and thus, Moff Dardano would not risk attempting to retake the base with Imperial troops and exposing his underhanded ways.

Now, all that remains is to break into a well-defended Imperial stronghold and ensure no one knows…
